Reach 4 Life Update

The HIV/AIDS pandemic has brought untold suffering to the people of Southern Africa. An estimated 22 million people are living with the disease; most of whom are below the age of 25. WHI, through the R4L program, is committed to introducing young people to information and practical strategies that will protect them from the disease and guide them towards a healthy life.

R4L is a 40-lesson discipleship program that has so far been introduced to more than 70,000 young people throughout Southern Africa. Using a peer group method, young people meet weekly to go through the manual and discuss issues related to them. In the program, they freely discuss each lesson amongst themselves and a trained group leader.

Since the program began in 2007, R4L has seen more than 30,000 young people receive Christ and profess to pursue purity in their personal lives. R4L’s goal is to expand this program into other regions affected by HIV/AIDS, with the full hope and expectation of reversing the infection trend and directing people toward a fulfilling relationship with Christ.
