Strengthening Societal Pillars
Mozambique is no stranger to internal strife. They endured a long, bloody civil war that mercifully ended in the early 90′s, but scars and serious issues remain. Widespread poverty, disease and degradation have taken a terrible toll on the fabric of Mozambican society – morally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
Strengthening the Foundation
Looking to the future, Mozambique’s schools and churches will play a key role in determining the nation’s destiny. With that in mind, WHI instituted the Reach4Life program in Mozambique in 2008 in an effort to help strengthen the foundation of these societal pillars.

Join us in praying for the students, pastors, teachers and families that will be impacted by the program in Mozambique.
Despite a great response to the program, it had to be put on hold due to a lack of materials and resources – one of the biggest needs being Reach4Life materials in the Portuguese language (one of Mozambique’s official languages).
Earlier this year, Reach4Life materials were finally translated into Portuguese. Once 20,000 new Reach4Life books arrive, then the process of selecting school and church partners and in-country facilitators and staff can begin. WHI is eagerly anticipating a 2011 re-launch in 10 schools throughout the country.
Tae Symons, WHI’s Health Programs Manager for Southern Africa, submitted the following prayer requests for the re-introduction of the program.
1. Preparation & Initiation of the R4L program
2. Relationship with Ministry of Education, School Administrations, teachers and other stakeholders
3. Pray for the WHI – Mozambique Team
4. Pray for the students who will participate in the program (open hearts and acceptance of the Word of God)
