The roots of WHI can be traced back to the vision and heart of our dynamic founder, Jo Anne Lyon. Jo Anne had a simple yet profound vision to not just help people around the world in need, but to empower the poorest of the poor so that they could be agents of change in their own communities.

From humble beginnings in 1996, God has blessed Jo Anne’s vision in miraculous and wonderful ways. Today, WHI is empowering people in the name of Christ in 22 countries.

Dr. Tom Armiger, former superintendent for the Wesleyan Church, joined the staff in 2011 as CEO and looks forward to continuing the work and seeing God do incredible things through World Hope International.
