Less than 50% of all children in this country are able to attend school. More than half the population lives in poverty. High poverty and low literacy rates (only 30% for females), do not bode well for any developing country, but there is hope in Bangladesh…

WHI partners with HELP Bangladesh to take care of orphaned or abandoned children living in “Samaritan’s Children’s Home”, an orphanage that provides total care including education, health care and vocational training in a loving atmosphere.

There is a school and clinic on the premises, and the children are given plenty of time to just be kids. The kids here love to play cricket, sing, dance and eat loads of rice.
