For those who haven’t been there, Haiti is a difficult place to describe. Its natural beauty and vibrant culture have been overshadowed by so many years of massive poverty, instability and degradation. Disease, corruption, violence and unemployment continue to be widespread, while most Haitians try to make do without running water, affordable food, electricity or access to education. The January 2010 earthquake has only made matters more difficult.

Only a few hundred miles away from the US border, Haiti is right in our backyard. It’s up to us to respond to this neighbor in need.

Your sponsorship here will ensure that a precious child will get an education–something fewer than half of all Haitian children have access to.

WHI has had a heart for Haiti since 1996 when we were just getting started. Since then we’ve seen God do amazing things through the program here, including watching one of our sponsored children grow up to become a leader himself in Haiti HFC.
