While movies like Salaam Bombay and Slumdog Millionaire portrayed gritty, gruesome urban realities of kids living on the streets, rural India has its own challenges including widespread poverty, lack of infrastructure and civil strife.
With 4 times the population of the US on about 1/3 of the land, there’s not always enough to go around here. Competition for resources is intense and continues to tighten as populations increase and resources dwindle.
While incredible wealth and hi-tech development can be seen extensively throughout the country, a great majority of Indians are simply struggling to survive. Millions of poor children are most at-risk.
In response to these issues, HFC sponsors children in need all over India. Many of our children here were orphaned, abandoned or come from families unable to meet their needs. Your sponsorship will enable a child to get an education, job training, clothes and other basic essentials for Indian children–such as cricket gear 
India is an increasingly crucial country in the world. Its strategic location and huge population ensure that their fortune, for better or worse, will have a direct impact on us and the world. India’s children deserve our tireless prayers, direct attention and full support.
