One thing all Indonesians can agree on is the idea that their children need to be educated. Many however are unable to afford the costs.
While most kids in Indonesia are able to attend primary (elementary) school, the numbers for secondary school drop sharply as fees become too expensive, or as older children are forced to drop out in order to help support their families.
An HFC sponsorship here will provide funds for school tuition, school uniforms, books, transportation and basic medical care. Our sponsored Indonesian kids have access to excellent schools and training facilities like our school in Nias, which provides practical, relevant job training and high quality instruction.
Perhaps more than any other country in the world, Indonesia has been hit hard by disaster in recent times–making our work here more crucial than ever.
