Child and maternal mortality rates are among the worst in the world. Only about half of the country’s high schools are functioning, and the lucky few who are able to attend school face slim employment prospects after graduation. Infrastructure destroyed in the country’s 11-year civil war has been slow to rebound.
But there is hope for Sierra Leone’s children.
HFC’s program in Sierra Leone cares for at-risk children–many of whom lost loved ones in the civil war. The children are given education, food, clothes and basic medical care. Your personal encouragement and guidance will increase their focus, vision and determination to succeed.
It’s important to raise up and empower a new generation of young Sierra Leoneans so they can rebuild their country. You can start that process by sponsoring a child here today.
