Mindy Kalee spent more than two years in Cambodia working as a Counseling Capacity Building Coordinator at WHI’s Assessment Center. Now back in America, Kalee took the time to share more about her time in Cambodia.
“Srey” was only 13 when she came to WHI’s Cambodia Assessment Center. She told us that she had been sold into prostitution a few years prior, but shared little else about her past.
Having run away from an abusive mother and an irresponsible, drunkard father, “Ly” ended up in a brothel. Her life consisted of being sold to one man after another, and spending the rest of her time taking drugs to numb the pain.
